Tips

history
She was the young widowed daughter of 卓王孙, an iron magnate of 临邛 in Sichuan. At her father's banquet 司马相如 played the zither to win her, and she ran off with him that night. Her furious father gave them nothing, so they sold wine in his own town, she serving at the counter, until he gave in and shared his wealth.
culture
The poem 《白头吟》 is said to be hers, written when her husband thought of taking a concubine. Its lines 愿得一心人,白头不相离, 'may I find one true-hearted man and never part from him till our hair is white', are still quoted about faithful love.
