From 白居易 Bai Juyi 《长恨歌》, describing Yang Guifei bathing at the Huaqing Hot Springs outside Chang'an: 春寒赐浴华清池，温泉水滑洗凝脂 — 'in spring chill she was granted a bath at Huaqing Pool; the smooth hot-spring water washed her cream-like skin.' The erotic opening of Xuanzong and Yang Guifei's tragedy.
usage
凝脂 literally = 'congealed fat/cream,' an ancient metaphor for smooth, pale, perfect skin (see also 《诗经·硕人》: 肤如凝脂). 滑 here is huá (smooth), not the modern 'slippery/slide.' Almost always paired with 春寒赐浴华清池.
