A premium grade of Shaoxing yellow wine (
绍兴黄酒). The name comes from the traditional Shaoxing custom of burying a sealed jar of wine when a daughter is born and carving flowers (
雕花) into its clay surface; the jar was opened at her wedding banquet years later. Hence 'flower-carved wine.'
