Real name ; 'Zhishan' was his style-name (), referring to a small extra finger on his hand () — the nickname literally puns on 'branch-finger mountain'. He is one of the 江南四大才子 (Four Great Talents of Jiangnan) alongside (Tang Bohu), (Wen Zhengming) and (Xu Zhenqing).
culture
He appears as a comic sidekick to Tang Bohu in countless TV dramas and Stephen Chow's 1993 film 《》. The historical figure was also one of the Ming era's foremost cursive-script calligraphers.
