This folk saying appears as early as the Song dynasty and became fixed in the form 世上难事有心人. 泽东 reworked it in his poem 《水调歌头·井冈山》 as 世上难事只要登攀 ('nothing in the world is hard, so long as you are willing to climb').
usage
Almost always paired with the following line 有心人, encouraging people that anyone who sets their mind to a task can succeed.
