Opening of 《卜算子·咏梅》 by 毛泽东 (Mao Zedong, 1961): '风雨送春归，飞雪迎春到。已是悬崖百丈冰，犹有花枝俏.' Explicitly written as a reply / inversion of 陆游 Lu You's earlier 《卜算子·咏梅》 (whose last line is 只有香如故 in this same batch) — Mao's plum is joyful, Lu You's is tragic.

usage

送 here = 'see off / escort.' 归 = 'return / go home' — together, a personification of spring leaving, as if being waved off.
