Country Garden Holdings (Hong Kong listing 2007), founded 1992 in Shunde, Guangdong by Yeung Kwok-keung (
杨国强). At its 2017 peak it was China's biggest developer by contracted sales, famous for suburban gated communities in lower-tier cities. Hit hard by the 2021-onwards property crisis; defaulted on offshore bonds in 2023. The name literally means "jade-green osmanthus garden".
