Not the 宋书, the history of the much earlier Liu Song (420–479). The 宋史 covers the Song dynasty of 960–1279, Northern and Southern.

A Yuan team under the chief minister 脱脱 (Toghto) wrote it in under three years, 1343–1345, together with the 辽史 and the 金史. At 496 scrolls it is the largest of the 二十四史, and its haste shows in repeated and contradictory biographies.
