In the film A Chinese Ghost Story, Nie Xiaoqian lives in the desolate Lanruo Temple.
Tips
usage
兰若 on its own means "Buddhist temple", from Sanskrit aranya, so 若 is rě here, not ruò. In 蒲松龄's original tale the scholar 宁采臣 simply lodges at a temple near Jinhua; the 1987 film turned 兰若寺 into a name.
