Founded 1908 in the late Qing to finance the communication industries (railways, telegraphs, postal service, shipping) — hence 交通 'communications/transportation.' One of five state-owned 'big banks' today, also one of the three note-issuing banks in Hong Kong. 行 here reads háng.
