From Feng Menglong's Ming-dynasty story collection 《醒世恒言》 volume 30-something: 黄秀才从陆路短船，风雨无阻 — Scholar Huang traveled by land and short boat, undeterred by wind or rain. It has described dogged reliability ever since.

usage
