Tips

memory
罄 (qìng) = 'used up / empty to the bottom'. The right component is 缶 (an earthenware vessel) - picture the jar tipped completely empty. So 售罄 = 'sold (until) empty'. The character is rare outside this word and the chengyu 罄竹难书 (so many crimes you'd run out of bamboo to record them).

Slightly formal / written - common on e-commerce listings, ticket pages, and inventory dashboards. Casual conversation: 卖完了 (mài wán le, 'sold out'). Don't confuse 罄 (qìng) with 磬 (qìng, a stone chime) or 馨 (xīn, fragrance) - same right side 殸, different bottoms.
