五分糖 (wǔfēntáng): 50% sugar

Standard bubble tea sugar levels in mainland China: 全糖 (quántáng, 100%), 七分 (qīfēn, 70%), 五分 (wǔfēn, 50%), 三分 (sānfēn, 30%), 微糖 (wēitáng, ~10%), 无糖 (wútáng, 0%). Ordering culture treats this as a default required choice — many shops won't make a drink without you specifying.

usage

分 (fēn) here means 'parts out of ten', so 五分 = 5/10 = 50%. The same fractional system applies to 冰 (ice): 正常冰 (normal), 少冰 (less ice), 去冰 (no ice).
