From Yang Shen's (杨慎, Ming dynasty) 《临江仙》, later used as the opening lyric of 《三国演义》: 滚滚长江东逝水，浪花淘尽英雄。是非成败转头空。青山依旧在，几度夕阳红。 (The Yangtze rolls east; its waves wash away heroes. Right and wrong, success and failure — all turn to nothing. The green mountains remain; how many sunsets have reddened them?)
