usage

Note 重 is read chóng ('repeat / again') here, not zhòng ('heavy'). 重码 is a key concept when discussing Chinese input methods (输入法) — pinyin produces lots of 重码 (e.g. shi → 是、时、十、市...) which is why you need a candidate list, while shape-based methods like Wubi (五笔) trade learning curve for fewer collisions.
