Tips

history
Written days before 陆游 died in 1210, in his mid-eighties. Grieving that he never saw the north won back from the Jin, he asks his sons: 王师北定中原日,家祭无忘告乃翁 'on the day the royal armies retake the Central Plains, do not forget to tell your father at the family sacrifice'.
usage
示 is 'to show, to instruct' and 儿 'sons', so the title means 'shown to my sons', a father's last words.
