气冲冲

An ABB-pattern reduplicated adjective — 气 (anger) + 冲冲 (rushing, surging). Doubling 冲 intensifies the sense of anger 'rushing out' visibly. Almost always used adverbially with 地 (de) before a verb of arriving, leaving, or speaking: 气冲冲地走 'storm off', 气冲冲地说 'snap angrily'.

Picture 气 'air / qi' literally 冲 'rushing / charging' upward — anger boiling over. The phrase has a near-twin 怒气冲冲 (nùqìchōngchōng) which is just an emphatic version with 怒 'rage' added explicitly.
