It opens
桃之夭夭,
灼灼其华。
之子于归,
宜其室家。 'The peach tree is young and lush, its blossoms blazing bright. This girl is going to her husband's home; she will bring harmony to the household.' Its three stanzas picture the bride as the peach tree in flower, in fruit and in leaf. Peach blossom has stood for love and marriage ever since, and
逃之夭夭 'to run off without a trace' is a pun on the first line.
