Located beside Suzhou's Taijian Lane, 得月楼 is a Ming-dynasty restaurant famous for classical 苏菜 dishes. The name comes from the poetic line 近水楼台先得月 ('the pavilion closest to the water gets the moon first').
得月楼 is a central setting in Stephen Chow's 1993 comedy film (and earlier Cantonese operas) based on the legend of Ming painter Tang Bohu courting the maid Qiuxiang.
