In his old age the king of Zhao sent an envoy to see whether he could still serve. Lian Po ate a huge meal and rode out in armour, but the bribed envoy reported that he had gone to the toilet three times. 辛弃疾 made the episode famous with the line 廉颇老矣,尚能饭否 ("Lian Po is old: can he still eat?").
