Rooted in Zhu Xi's Song-era commentary on 《论语·子罕》 (the 后生可畏 line): '后生年富力强，足以积学而有待' — 'the young have years in abundance and strength, enough to accumulate learning and await their time'. 年富 originally meant 'rich in years yet to come', i.e. young.
mistakes
年富 here means 'abundant in future years' — i.e. young. Counter-intuitively, 富 does NOT mean wealthy. 年富 = young, 力强 = strong.
