Tips

usage
In traffic talk 大车 means trucks and buses and 小车 means cars, so truck drivers are 大车司机. On a ship the crew call the chief engineer 大车, and railway workers once used it for a locomotive driver.
history
In the Analects line 大车无輗,小车无軏, 'a big cart without its yoke-bar, a small cart without its collar-pin', 大车 is an ox cart for loads and 小车 a light horse carriage. Confucius uses them to say that a person without good faith cannot get anywhere.
