After overthrowing 夏桀, the last king of Xia, 商汤 felt ashamed and feared later ages would make him their 口实 'talking point'. His minister 仲虺 answers that Heaven had given him the mandate. The chapter is the source of 东征西怨 and 贻人口实.
usage
虺 is read huǐ in this name, not huī. The received text is one of the 'old script' chapters of the Book of Documents that most scholars date to around the 4th century CE.
