Examples

Tā xǐhuan tī zúqiú, dǎ lánqiú zhī lèi de yùndòng.
He likes sports such as soccer, basketball, and the like.
不要说这之类的话。
Bù yào shuō zhè zhī lèi de huà.
Don't say things like that.

Tips

grammar
之类 comes after a list of examples: A、B之类的C (C such as A, B, and the like). The 的 after 之类 is usually required when followed by a noun.
usage
Similar expressions: 等等 (děngděng, etc.), 什么的 (shénme de, and stuff like that — more colloquial). 之类 is slightly more formal than 什么的.
