莲蓬 liánpeng is the round, dimpled seed pod of a lotus flower (the green disc full of nut-like seeds you see at markets). A showerhead with its pattern of holes looks exactly like a lotus pod — hence 莲蓬头 'lotus-pod head'. Vivid, very common in southern China; northerners often say 花洒 huāsǎ instead.
