Tips

history
沧浪亭 was built in 1044 by Song-dynasty poet 苏舜钦, who named it after a line from 楚辞·渔父: 沧浪之水清兮,可以濯吾缨 ('When the Canglang waters are clear, I can wash my hat-strings'). It is the oldest of Suzhou's classical gardens and a UNESCO World Heritage site.
