Tips

history
About 60 km northwest of Beijing in 昌平区 (Changping District). Famed since the Han dynasty as the northern gateway to the capital. The Yuan-dynasty Cloud Platform (云台) at the pass is carved with Buddhist scriptures in six scripts including Sanskrit, Tibetan, and Tangut.
