Tips

culture
Made in 安化 county near 益阳 in Hunan, it is pressed into bricks such as 茯砖, prized for the 'golden flower' mould that grows inside, or packed into bamboo-wrapped logs called 千两茶, each weighing a thousand taels (about 36 kg). For centuries it was carried to herders in the northwest and Mongolia, who drank it with milk and meat.
