usage
剧种 names a whole opera tradition with its own music, dialect and repertoire: 京剧, 越剧, 黄梅戏 and 川剧 are each a 剧种. In a wider sense it sorts theatre into 话剧 (spoken drama), 歌剧 (Western-style opera) and 舞剧 (dance drama).
