From 李白 Li Bai 《赠汪伦》: 桃花潭水深千尺，不及汪伦送我情 — 'Peach Blossom Pool is a thousand feet deep, but can't match Wang Lun's feeling in seeing me off.' 汪伦 Wang Lun was a local admirer who lured Li Bai to visit with a made-up '十里桃花，万家酒店' — which Li Bai forgave with this poem.
usage
及 here = 'to match, come up to.' Usually quoted with the preceding 桃花潭水深千尺 to complete the hyperbolic comparison. The poem launched Wang Lun into literary immortality as the archetypal good host.
