龙抄手 was founded in 1941 and named after the original founders' meeting place - 'Nong Gai Zhi Shi' (浓花茶园) - with 龙 chosen as a near-homophone of 浓. 抄手 is Sichuan's word for 馄饨 (wonton); the shop's signature is 红油抄手, wontons in chili oil.
