Tips

usage
Two different books share this name. Inside the Records of the Three Kingdoms, as in 《三国志·魏书》, it is the 30-scroll section on the state of Wei founded by the family of Cao Cao, also called 魏志. Cited on its own, it is usually the history of the Northern Wei by 魏收.
history
Wei Shou compiled his 魏书 for the Northern Qi between 551 and 554. Rivals accused him of flattering the ancestors of powerful families and called it a 'filthy history', but it remains the main source for the Northern Wei (386–534) and is the tenth of the 二十四史.
