Tips

culture
Each of his idioms has a story: 胯下之辱, from crawling between a bully's legs as a young man rather than fight; 背水一战, from a battle fought with a river at his men's backs so they could not run; 多多益善 'the more the better', his answer when Liu Bang asked how many troops he could lead.
history
萧何 chased after him when he deserted and talked 刘邦 into making him commander, then later lured him into the trap that killed him. Hence 成也萧何,败也萧何, 'made by Xiao He, undone by Xiao He', for one cause behind both success and ruin.
