From the Shi Ji's Biography of Marquis Huaiyin (Han Xin). Emperor Gaozu asked Han Xin how many soldiers each of them could command. Han Xin bragged his own capacity was 多多益善 — 'the more the better.' Originally self-praise that bordered on insolent.
