AABB-style reduplication of 阴沉 (overcast/gloomy) — the doubled 沉沉 'sinks the cloud lower'. Use it for two scenes: heavy gray skies before rain, and the face of someone who is angry but silent. The atmosphere is the same: heavy, pressing down.
