It opens 李杜文章在,光焰万丈长, 'the writings of Li and Du endure, their flames ten thousand feet long', and mocks their critics: 蚍蜉撼大树,可笑不自量, 'ants trying to shake a great tree, laughable, not knowing their own size'. The idiom 蚍蜉撼树 comes from it.
usage
调 here is tiáo 'to tease', as in 调侃, not diào. The title is a friendly jest at 张籍, a fellow poet, rather than a rebuke.
