蓔 is a very rare character naming a kind of grass. An old secondary reading zhuó exists only as a variant of another obscure grain character; it is not used in modern Chinese.
The lower part shares the grain-and-mortar shape of 稻; it supplies an approximate sound and links the character loosely to the cereal-grass group, with no precise meaning here.
