Known as New China's first woman tractor driver after training in Heilongjiang in the late 1940s. A woman driving a tractor, modelled on her, appeared on the one-yuan note of the third series of renminbi.

Tips

history

She only learned in 2003, from a CCTV programme, that she was the model for the woman on the one-yuan note. In 1950 China's first women's 拖拉机 (tractor) team, twelve drivers, was named after her.
