桂林市 (GuìlínShì): Guilin (prefecture-level city in Guangxi)

桂林 is the poster child of Chinese karst landscape — jagged limestone peaks rising from the Li River (漓江). The proverb 桂林山水甲天下 ('Guilin's landscape is the best under heaven') dates back to Song dynasty poet 王正功. The 20-yuan note features the Li River scenery near 兴坪.
