usage

挤 = 'to squeeze / press', so 挤眼 is literally 'to squeeze the eye.' The reduplicated form 挤了挤眼 ('gave a quick wink') is the most common literary phrasing. Also written 眨眼 (zhǎyǎn, 'to blink'), but 挤眼 specifically implies a one-eyed signaling wink.
