Today most familiar in 彝族 (Yízú, the Yi ethnic group of southwest China). The older meaning is a bronze ritual vessel, which extends to the literary sense of an enduring norm or law, as in 彝伦 (yílún, the constant moral order).

An old picture of two hands offering up silk and grain (or a fowl) to the spirits in sacrifice. The historical pieces have fused into a dense eighteen-stroke block that no longer separates into independent components. Indexed under Kangxi radical 58 彑 (snout) by tradition, though that part is not clearly visible in the modern form.
Filed under radical 彐 (jì, #58) by convention. 彐 is not a separate component in 彝, so no strokes are highlighted.
