Wife of 蒋介石 (Chiang Kai-shek) and youngest of the three Soong sisters, educated in the United States. In 1943 she spoke to the US Congress to win support for China's war against Japan.
A popular saying sums up the three Soong sisters: 一个爱钱，一个爱权，一个爱国, 'one loved money, one loved power, one loved her country'. She is the one who loved power; 宋霭龄 loved money and 宋庆龄 her country.
