Tips

grammar
压根儿 is almost always used with negatives (不, 没, 别). It intensifies the negation: 我不知道 (I don't know) → 我压根儿不知道 (I don't know at all / I never knew).

压根儿 is colloquial and common in northern Chinese speech. The erhua (儿) is typical of Beijing dialect.
