history
Each of the 十三经 comes with an early 注 commentary, mostly from the Han to the Jin, and a later 疏 from the Tang or Song that explains the 注. The two were first printed together with the texts in the Song; the standard edition is the one 阮元 printed in 1816 with his notes on textual variants.
