The fourth of 王昌龄's seven is the famous one: 青海长云暗雪山,孤城遥望玉门关。黄沙百战穿金甲,不破楼兰终不还。 'Long clouds over Qinghai darken the snowy peaks; from a lone fort we gaze toward Jade Gate Pass. In the yellow sands a hundred battles have worn through our armour; until we take Loulan we will not go home.'
