鹤

Right bird radical - the indexing radical, simplified from traditional 鳥 (a pictograph of a bird with head, body, wing, legs, and tail-feather dot). Anchors 鹤 in the bird family: 鸡 chicken, 鸭 duck, 鹅 goose, 鸽 pigeon, 鹰 eagle. Marks the crane specifically - the long-legged, white-feathered symbol of longevity in Chinese painting and poetry.
