窗花 = 剪纸 paper-cuts made specifically to be pasted on window panes for Spring Festival. Northern Shaanxi 延安 and Shandong are the two most famous traditions. Motifs are auspicious: 鱼 (surplus), 囍 (double happiness), zodiac animals, 福 characters.
