mistakes
纂 has the third tone. It looks almost the same as 篡 'to usurp', as in 篡改 'to tamper with'; check the bottom: silk 糸 in 纂, a small 厶 in 篡.
usage
Only for large works built from many sources: dictionaries, encyclopedias, dynastic histories, local gazetteers. For an ordinary book use 编写 'to write, to compile' or 编辑 'to edit'.
