Both 淋 and 漓 carry the water radical 氵 — picture liquid streaming down. Beyond the literal dripping sense, 淋漓 extends to anything done all the way: 痛快淋漓 (tòngkuài línlí, thoroughly satisfying), 淋漓尽致 (línlí jìnzhì, to the fullest extent).
