The fisherman rowed away singing the Canglang song.
Tips
culture
The fisherman's song, from 《楚辞·渔父》 and quoted in the Mencius, runs 沧浪之水清兮,可以濯吾缨;沧浪之水浊兮,可以濯吾足: 'when the Canglang is clear I wash my hat strings in it, when it is muddy I wash my feet'. Its advice is to go along with the times.
usage
The river named the Suzhou garden 沧浪亭 and 严羽's treatise on poetry, 《沧浪诗话》. In Taiwan the word is read cāngláng.
